Behind the name Kabarett AZ is the Cologne acting duo Corinne Walter and Frank Zollner and the theater of the same name.

They became a bigger audience through their television appearances in the RTL show “Saturday Night” , in the Sat.1 programs “ Koschwitz ” and “ The Harald Schmidt Show ” and through the programs “Stuttgarter Kabarett-Festival” ( SDR ), "Blue Hour" ( MDR ) and " Hüsch & Co " ( Südwest 3 ) known. Excerpts from their program were also broadcast on several radio stations, for example on WDR , ORF and SWR .

history

Corinne Walter and Frank Zollner passed the state acting examination at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe in 1990 . Since then they have been working together successfully and are also a couple in private. From 1990 to 2008 she toured with his own cabaret programs by Germany . They have been performing successfully with their programs since 1994. In 1995 they moved to Cologne , where they first played on all the major cabaret stages. Today, as actors and directors, they perform a new piece in their own production every year in their theater. Author Frank Zollner has been offering his comedy texts for other theaters and independent groups since June 2020.

Cabaret AZ - the theater in Cologne

After more than 15 years on tour, the Duo Kabarett AZ settled down in Cologne in 2008 and opened a cabaret theater with 30 seats under their name in Cologne city ​​center on October 2, 2008 as part of the 8th Cologne Theater Night.

There they perform their socially critical cabaret productions as well as their comedies. In addition, Frank Meyer can be heard and seen with various literature readings. From 2009 to 2014 the children's fairy tale “The Devil with the 3 Golden Hairs” by the Brothers Grimm and the solo play “Finnish” by Martin Heckmanns in productions by director Peter Dorsch were on the program. In 2002 and 2004 Corinne Walter directed the Cologne political cabaret duo Seibel & Wohlenberg . Frank Zollner directed Fatal Banal in 2013 and played the solo play "Finnish" by Martin Heckmanns in the 2009-2010 season, directed by Peter Dorsch .
