Cabinet Höcker II

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Höcker II cabinet was the state government of Mecklenburg, which was constituted in the Schwerin state parliament on December 10, 1946 after the first post-war state parliament elections on October 20, 1946 in the Soviet occupation zone. It initially consisted of Prime Minister Wilhelm Höcker (SED) and 7 ministers, 3 of whom belonged to the SED, 2 to the CDU and 1 to the LDP. The Agriculture Minister Möller was initially non-party, but then joined the CDU. Apart from the Prime Minister, the Minister for Public Education and the Minister for Trade and Supply, no member of the government ended the term of office. The ministries were also partially restructured and renamed. In September 1950 a Ministry of Justice, albeit short-lived, was set up. This was led by an NDPD minister, a party that did not even exist in 1946. Until then, judicial affairs were handled by a judicial administration department, which was directly subordinate to the Prime Minister.
