Hans-Gotthilf Strasser

Hans-Gotthilf Strasser (also Hans G. Strasser ; born December 10, 1883 in Tzschetzschnow , † June 19, 1963 in Berlin ) was a German legal scholar and LDPD politician of the GDR .

Life

Hans-Gotthilf Strasser passed his Abitur at the Cologne High School in Berlin in 1902 and then studied law and political science in Heidelberg and Berlin . In 1908, he received his doctorate as a doctor of law in Heidelberg .

From 1913 to 1933 he worked in the Berlin judicial service. In 1933 he established himself as a lawyer in Berlin, but was banned from practicing his profession. He worked as a private scholar and freelance writer until the end of World War II .

In 1945 he became a department head in the Berlin financial administration. In the same year he joined the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany (LDPD), of which he was a member from 1947 onwards. In 1946 he became editor-in-chief of the Norddeutsche Zeitung . From December 1946 to December 1948 he was finance minister in the state of Mecklenburg and then a member of the German Economic Commission until the founding of the GDR in October 1949 . In addition, he was entrusted in 1946 with the establishment and management of the Norddeutsche Zeitung in Schwerin . From 1946 to 1950 he was a member of the Mecklenburg state parliament .

In 1946 he became associate professor and in 1948 full professor for constitutional and canon law at the University of Rostock . From 1948 to 1950 he was a member of the German People's Council and the People's Chamber .

In 1951 Hans-Gotthilf Strasser took over the presidency of the ecclesiastical court of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg .

He is buried in the Evangelical Cemetery of the Rahnsdorf-Wilhelmshagen community (Saarower Weg 51), Department C.
