Sigrid Keler

Sigrid Keler , b. Mehle (born May 26, 1942 in Herrnstadt , Silesia ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

From 1996 to 2008 she was Finance Minister of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1960, Sigrid Keler completed a practical year and began studying economics at the University of Leipzig in 1961 , which she completed in 1965 with a degree in economics. She then worked as a research assistant at the chemical works in Buna and from 1971 at the VEB fiber board factory Ribnitz-Damgarten , most recently as department head for sales planning, accounting and contract drafting.

Sigrid Keler is married and has two children.

Political party

In January 1990 Sigrid Keler became a member of the GDR's SPD . From 1990 to 2001 she was treasurer of the SPD state association Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Since 1990 she has been a member of the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . From December 1990 to May 1996 she was Chair of the Finance Committee .

Public offices

On May 7, 1996, Sigrid Keler was appointed finance minister to the state government of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania led by Prime Minister Berndt Seite ( CDU ). In this function, she also belonged to the government led by Harald Ringstorff (SPD) since November 3, 1998 . On August 6, 2008, Ringstorff announced that Keler would resign as minister on October 3, 2008.

From May 2010 to December 2012, Keler was responsible for the club's finances as a board member of FC Hansa Rostock .

She is also a member of the board of trustees of the German Wildlife Foundation .
