The Kachess River is a mountain river in Kittitas County , Washington state .

According to the USGS, it rises at around 1450 m above sea level on the south side of the Chikamin Ridge (some sources see the origin of the river in the nearby mountain lake Three Queens Lake ). After the stream reaches the valley, it takes up the drainage of Three Sisters Lake. After converging with Mineral Creek - its main tributary - the Kachess River turns south. After 6.3 kilometers, the river flows into Kachess Lake , a natural lake enlarged by a dam.

Shortly after leaving the lake, the Kachess River flows into Lake Easton, a small reservoir on the Yakima River . The Kachess River has a catchment area of 167 km² and is 8.4 km long (with the lake through which it flows) 25.8 km. It belongs to the catchment area of ​​the Columbia River .
