Kachstedt is a district of the city of Artern in the eastern part of the Kyffhäuserkreis in Thuringia .

location

The place Kachstedt is about 30 kilometers (as the crow flies ) east of the district town of Sondershausen and three kilometers north of the core town of Artern. The highest point is the vineyard ( 181.9  m above sea level ) on the eastern edge of the district.

history

Kachstedt, Cahstedt, first in the directory of the Patrimony of the Archbishop Lull († 786), built by Mainz monastery Hersfeld as Cazstadt mentioned. Originally a simple village, it later developed into the Vorwerk in the Mansfeld district of Artern, and is now a district of Artern. The Knaut family on Ringleben and Voigtstedt is documented as the feudal owner of the Vorwerkes from 1525 to 1553.
