The Kado Point ( Japanese 角 岬 Kado-misaki , German 'Winkelspitze' ) is a headland on the Prince Harald Coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It lies on the east bank of the Lützow-Holm Bay and marks both the western foothills of the Skallen group of hills and the northern boundary of the entrance to Skallevika .
Aerial photographs and measurements by a Japanese Antarctic expedition (1957–1962) were used to map them. The descriptive naming by Japanese scientists took place in 1972. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names transferred this in 1975 in a partial translation into English.
