Stephen Jacob Williams (* 29. June 1986 in Houston , Texas ) is a former American American football poker players. He played for three seasons as the wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL).

Career

Williams played college football at the University of Toledo for the Toledo Rockets from 2005 to 2009 . In 2005 he was suspended because he put in a red shirt year. He made his first appearances in 2006 when he caught six passes in ten games. In 2007 he caught 73 passes for 1,169 yards , the third time in school history that a player caught passes for more than 1,000 yards. He was elected to the second team All- MAC for his achievements . In the following year, All-MAC was again elected to the second team . In his senior year he was elected to the All-MAC First Team . His total of 229 passes captured for the Rockets and 3,102 yards broke Lance Moore's school records .

After Williams was not selected in the 2010 NFL Draft , the Arizona Cardinals signed him . He was able to convince in the first training camps and the Cardinals kept him in the active squad. He played 30% of the offensive snaps in his first season, even if he only caught nine passes. In 2011, his playing time decreased rapidly. He got active for only two games and only played one snap. In August 2012, Williams suffered an Achilles tendon injury, which resulted in his being fired from the Cardinals in December 2012. The Seattle Seahawks signed him back in January 2013 . Williams was able to convince in the training camps and received a place in the 53-man squad. However, he failed to catch a pass during the first four games and was released by the Seahawks on October 5, 2013. October 7, 2013, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed him . He played in two Jaguars games before being placed on the Injured Reserve List on November 23, 2013 . On May 12, 2014, the Jaguars released Williams. Three days later he was signed by the Miami Dolphins .
