Lance Andrew Moore (* 31 August 1983 in Westerville , Ohio ) is a former American American football poker players. He played for eleven seasons on the position of wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL).

college

Moore played college football from 2001 to 2004 at the University of Toledo for their football team, the Toledo Rockets . During that time he completed 50 games in which he caught 222 passes for 2,776 yards and 25 touchdowns , which is a school record. In addition, he returnt 42 kickoffs for 902 yards and several punts for a total of 399 yards and two touchdowns. In the 2003 season, he had 103 passports captured, the most in the entire NCAA. In 2004 he won the MAC Football Championship with the Rockets . In 2011 he was inducted into the University of Toledo's Athletic Hall of Fame. An anniversary team was elected in 2017 for the 100th anniversary of the Rockets. Moore ended up in fifth place.

NFL

Cleveland Browns

After Moore was not selected in the NFL Draft , the Cleveland Browns signed him on April 29, 2005 . He was released on August 29, 2005.

New Orleans Saints and Berlin Thunder

On September 26, 2005, the New Orleans Saints Moore enlisted for their Practice Squad . On November 16, 2005, he was promoted to the active squad. They released him on December 12, 2005, but recruited him three days later to join their practice squad. In 2006 the Saints Moore sent to the NFL Europe for the Berlin Thunder . Here he played in a few games, but an injury ended the season prematurely for him. In the 2006 NFL season , he was used in four of the first five games in which he caught a pass. On November 2, 2006, he was released again. On January 29, 2007 he was signed again. In 2007 he played for the first time in all 16 games of the season. He had his breakthrough in 2008 when he caught 79 passes for 928 yards and ten touchdowns. With the Saints he won the Super Bowl XLVI in 2009 . In the first quarter he got two pass catches for 21 yards and in the fourth quarter he caught a two-point conversion . After his contract expired, the Saints gave him a new one-year contract on April 24, 2009. The same happened on June 18, 2010. On July 29, 2011, the Saints Moore signed again. He was released on March 7, 2014.

Pittsburg Steelers

On March 21, 2014, the Pittsburgh Steelers equipped Moore with a two-year contract. However, he was only sparingly used and had only 14 captured passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns in the 2014 season . He was released on March 2, 2015.

Detroit Lions

On May 12, 2015, the Detroit Lions enlisted moors.

Atlanta Falcons

On August 5, 2016, the Atlanta Falcons signed Moore. On August 8, 2016, he announced his resignation.

Resignation and records at the Saints

On May 30, 2017, Moore signed a one-day contract with the Saints to resign as a Saint. Moore scored the fifth most pass catches, the seventh most space gain after receiving a pass and the fourth most caught touchdowns. He holds the franchise records for undrafted players in all three categories. On July 14, 2018, it was announced that Moore would be inducted into the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame in September 2018 .

Personal

His brother Nick Moore also played football for the Rockets and currently plays Canadian football for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian Football League .
