Dulymus Jenod (Deuce) McAllister (born December 27, 1978 in Lena , Mississippi ) is a former American football player who played as running back for the New Orleans Saints in the NFL . He got his nickname Deuce from his father.

NFL career

McAllister was picked 23rd overall by the New Orleans Saints in the 2001 NFL Draft . In his rookie season, he was rarely used because he shared the operating time with Ricky Williams . In the following three years he ran over 1,000 yards each time, something that no Saints running back had managed to do before. McAllister is now the best running back in franchise history in terms of yards run (6,096 in 8 years).

McAllister had two serious knee injuries in his career that ended early for both the 2005 and 2007 seasons . Since the Saints pecked Reggie Bush in the 2006 draft, he had to share the burden of the running game with him. He was released from the New Orleans Saints on February 17, 2009 and announced his retirement on January 19, 2010.
