Nicholas A. "Nick" Moore (* 25. June 1986 in Columbus , Ohio ) is a former American American football - and Canadian football poker players. He played on the position of wide receiver in the Canadian Football League (CFL), United Football League (UFL) and was a member of several teams in the National Football League (NFL).

Career

Moore attended the University of Toledo from 2004 to 2008 , where he played college football for the Toledo Rockets . After suspending his first season as a red shirt before starting ten of eleven games in 2005, catching 24 passes for 335 yards and four touchdowns . In his third year he played ten games, eight of them from the start and missed two due to injury. In total, he caught 20 passes for 200 yards. As a senior, he caught 60 passes for 731 yards and eight touchdowns. In 2008, Moore broke the school record for most passes caught in a game in the Rockets' 13:10 surprise win over Michigan at 20.

After he was not selected in the 2009 NFL Draft , the Minnesota Vikings Moore signed on April 27, 2009 . There he did not make the leap into the main squad, but was committed to the practice squad at the beginning of the season . Shortly after his release from the Vikings Practice Squad, the New England Patriots signed Moore on January 6, 2010 for the duration of the play-offs for the Practice Squad. Subsequently, Moore was under contract with the Florida Tuskers , but was released before the start of the season.

In October 2010, the BC Lions from the Canadian Football League (CFL) signed him for their practice roster as part of the Expansion Days . In his first season in the main squad, he won the Gray Cup with them . In 2013 he was able to break the 100-yard mark for the only time. He caught 73 passes for 1,105 yards and six touchdowns that year. After the season he moved to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers , where he stayed for two seasons. He was awarded a $ 180,000 per season contract, making him one of the highest paid players outside of the quarterback position. His first season with the Bombers was marked by injuries before catching 76 passes for 899 yards and four touchdowns in 2015. On February 9, 2016, he returned to the Lions, who provided him with a one-year contract. During the season, however, he only played four games before the season ended for him due to a knee injury. He sustained the injury while celebrating his only touchdown of the season. Nevertheless, he received a new contract for the 2017 season. In the 2017 season, he caught 37 passes for 547 yards and two touchdowns. On the fourth day of play, he was able to score his first 200-yard game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats after catching passes for 220 yards. He played the game just days after learning that a close friend had died at the age of only 32. On May 18, 2018, the BC Lions announced that Moore was stepping down from professional football. In total, he was able to catch 282 passes for 3,758 yards and 16 touchdowns in 69 games in the CFL .

Personal

Nick Moore is the younger brother of Lance Moore , who was also active as a wide receiver in the NFL, mostly for the New Orleans Saints .
