In the 2009/10 season Kai went to the Dresdner Eislöwen with a support license from Eisbären Berlin , for which he played his first professional games in the 2nd Bundesliga. For the following season he received a contract with the ice lions, for which he got little ice age in the main round of the 2010/11 season as a backup of Pasi Häkkinen . Häkinnen injured himself in the playoffs, so Kristian played in all four games in the playoff semifinals against SERC Wild Wings . He recommended himself for a contract with the Wild Wings, where he did not get beyond the role of back-up.

After a year with plenty of match practice in Dortmund , Kristian switched to the Kassel Huskies for the 2013/14 season , with whom he was promoted to the DEL2 . Due to his strong performance, in August 2014 he received a license to support the Kölner Haie from the DEL, with which the Kassel Huskies cooperated in the 2014/15 season.

After two successful years in Kassel, he was under contract with EV Landshut in the Oberliga Süd from August 2015 . In 2016 he moved to the Crocodiles Hamburg in the Oberliga Nord .

In his career, he also went through all BEV measures. For the German Ice Hockey Association he played as a U16, U18 and U20 national player and played in several international tournaments and internationals.
