The Kai Middendorff Gallery is a private art gallery in Frankfurt am Main . It was founded in 2008 and is based in the building of a former car factory from 1900 in Frankfurt's station district .

program

The program has an international focus and is not restricted by media. International artists with an independent profile are represented. Positions on the fringes of secondary disciplines such as sound, design or film are also incorporated into the portfolio. The commitment to the medium of film found  expression in 2011 in a collaboration with the Oberhausen Short Film Festival . The gallery also takes part in international trade fairs.

founder

Before founding the gallery, Kai Middendorff conducted research on the phenomenon of photograms using the example of Moholy-Nagy's work as part of his doctorate in art history . In 1995 he took on a partnership in a Munich gallery and accompanied the establishment of the BVB / Allianz art collection in Munich from 1997 to 2005, where he worked with the curator Harald Szeemann , among others .

Since 2008 Kai Middendorff has been organizing group and solo exhibitions, which are composed of national and international artistic positions.

Trade fair participations

Since it was founded in 2008, the gallery has participated in various international trade fairs, including Art Forum Berlin , Art Cologne , Vienna Contemporary and Art Rotterdam.
