The Kaindy Glacier ( Kyrgyzstan : Кайыңды мөңгүсү) is a glacier in Kyrgyzstan .
location
The glacier is located in the extreme east of Kyrgyzstan in the Issyk Kul area in the Tian Shan Mountains, about 30 kilometers west of the Jengish Chokusu , the highest mountain in Kyrgyzstan. description
The Kaindy Glacier is a valley glacier and runs in the valley between the Kaindy chain in the south and the Engiltschek chain in the north. The main arm of the glacier runs to the west. It has an average ice thickness of around 77 meters. Several side glaciers flow into it, mainly from the south from side valleys of the Kaindy chain, but also from the north from side valleys of the Engiltschek chain. The length between the highest and lowest point of the glacier is 23.5 km, the greatest length including the branch is 26.7 km. The meltwater from the Kaindy Glacier forms the Kaindy River (river) .
