Kakrina ( Bulgarian Къкрина ) is a village in the Lovech municipality , Lovech Oblast in northern Bulgaria . The village is located in the so-called Pre- Balkans , a mountain range north of the Balkan Mountains .
The village is considered the place of arrest of the Bulgarian freedom fighter and ideologue Vasil Levski on December 15, July. / December 27, 1872 greg. known. The exact place, the Chan (rest stop) of Christo Zonew is now a museum. The museum opened on May 10, 1931 and was one of the 100 national tourist objects in Bulgaria until 1989 . The place has been namesake for Kakrina Point , a headland of Clarence Island in Antarctica , since 2014 .
