Kalanchoe laxiflora is a species of the genus Kalanchoe in the family of thick-leaf plants (Crassulaceae).

Vegetative characteristics

Kalanchoe laxiflora is a perennial , completely bare plant that reaches heights of up to 50 centimeters. Their upright shoots branch out from the base. Flowering shoots are initially prostrate at the base, take root and then become ascending. The green to bluish green, usually red-edged leaves are stalked and sometimes brown or red spotted. The slender petiole is 1.5 to 6 inches long. Their somewhat egg-shaped leaf blades are 2 to 6 inches long and 1.5 to 3.5 inches wide. Its tip is blunt, the base more or less clearly eyed. The leaf margin is clearly notched. The indentations sometimes have red spots, the teeth bear brood buds.

Generative characteristics

The inflorescence consists of dense cymes on the outside . The peduncle reached a length of up to 50 centimeters. The pendulous flowers are on very slender, 8 to 16 millimeter long peduncles . The calyx is yellow-green or orange-red to purple. The calyx tube is 5 to 12 millimeters long. The somewhat triangular, pointed calyx lobes are 3 to 7 millimeters long. The corolla is red, red-purple, pink, pink-orange, orange-red, orange-yellow to pale yellow. The cylindrical corolla tube is 10 to 20 millimeters long. Their obovate, blunt corolla lobes are 3 to 5 millimeters long and 2.5 to 3 millimeters wide. The stamens are attached directly below the center of the corolla tube. The upper stamens do not or only slightly protrude from the flower. The kidney-shaped anthers are about 1 millimeter long. The rounded nectar flakes have a length of about 0.4 millimeters and are 0.6 millimeters wide. The carpel has a length of 5.5 to 10 millimeters. The stylus is 7 to 11 millimeters long.
