The Kali ( Kannada ಕಾಳಿ ) is a tributary of the Arabian Sea in southwest India in the state of Karnataka .

The river has its source in the Western Ghats at an altitude of about 800  m . At the beginning it is dammed by the Supa dam . It then flows in an easterly direction, passes the town of Dandeli , turns south and is dammed again - by the Bommanahalli dam . From the left the Kali takes up the Tatihalla and turns towards the west-southwest. The Anshi National Park extends north of the river . The Kali flows through the mountains in a deep valley. It overcomes the Lalguli waterfall and flows through the reservoirs of the Kodasalli and Kadra dams . Eventually the potash reaches the lowlands, where it forms an estuary before flowing into the sea. The city of Karwar is located on the south bank just before the estuary. The Kali runs entirely within the Uttara Kannada district . It has a length of 153 km. Its catchment area covers 5179 km².
