Kalman Travel

Kalman Reisen (* 1848 in Koidanowo , Minsk Gouvernement , Russian Empire ; † July 1921 in Minsk ) was a Yiddish - Hebrew writer and translator.

Reisen had studied Hebrew as well as German, Polish and Russian literature and then wrote features and songs for various Hebrew and Yiddish magazines. He translated selected works by Friedrich Schiller , Alexander Sergejewitsch Pushkin and others into Yiddish.

A collection of his sketches appeared in 1893 under the title Jonah Homiah . Hamavdil ben kodesch l'chol (German: The difference between the sacred and the profane) is one of his most famous songs .

Kalman Reisen was the father of Abraham , Salman and Sara Reisen .
