The Kaltenbach is a right tributary of the Isar in Upper Bavaria .

It rises near the hamlet of Kaltenbach , initially flows in a southerly direction, makes a U-shaped bend to the north when it enters the Pupplinger Au . In the further course the brook bed in the Au widens, but just before it enters today's Isar it seeps into the gravel bed of the Pupplinger Au. In the area of the Pupplinger Au, the water flows in the nature reserve of the same name.
