Cambrian is a German Melodic Death Metal band.

history

The band was formed in the late fall of 2005. The founding members were Nils Peter Töpfer (vocals), Marc Brunke (drums), Julian Schenke (guitar), Jan Hein (then guitar, now keyboard) and Martin Simon (back then only bass, now also vocals). The first cover songs were rehearsed under this line-up. In 2006, however, Nils Peter Töpfer left the band and Philipp Engel took his place in March 2006. Cambrium made its first appearance on June 17th, 2006 in a band battle. Due to differences in style, Philipp Engel left the band after their second appearance together. He later founded the band Sylent Noise with other musicians . In addition to the bass, Martin Simon now also took on the position of singer. Martin Simon's brother Karsten joined the band as a further guitarist in September 2006 and Jan Hein switched to keyboard. After moving to a new rehearsal room, Jan Hein began to write his own songs for the band, which were first performed publicly in November 2006. The band solidified and more appearances followed. At the “Waldbrand Open Air” organized by Marc Brunke and Jan Hein in 2007, Kambrium performed exclusively with their own titles and published their first mini-demo in October. During 2008 the band worked on more songs and released a second demo in April 2008 . In November 2008 she separated from her previous drummer Marc Brunke. In 2009 Fabien Chmiel took the position of drummer. Since 2010 Martin Simon has also been the bassist and second vocalist in the death metal band Sariel . On February 25, 2011, the band began recording their debut album Shadowpath in the Metal Sound Studio in Osterode in the Harz region . The work could be finished after nine days. In August 2011, the band signed a record deal with the Massacre Records label . The album, which contains ten tracks, was released on November 25, 2011. On January 28, 2012, the band took part in the “Devil's Wall Trophy” competition in Osterode, won the audience award and thus secured a performance at the “Walpurgis Rock Festival” in Bad Grund .

On October 18, 2013, the second album called Dark Reveries was released . Amanda Somerville ( Avantasia , Trillium) and Thomas Winkler ( Gloryhammer ) are guest musicians on this album .

In 2016 the band signed a record deal with NoiseArt Records .
