The Kamenew Nunatak is an approximately 1400 m high and ridge-like nunatak on the Black Coast of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises west of the head end of Odom Inlet and seven miles west of Mount Whiting .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1976 after the Soviet geologist Yevgeny N. Kamenew, who worked as an exchange scientist at McMurdo Station in 1972 and was involved in surveys of the United States Geological Survey of the adjacent Lassiter coast from 1972 to 1973 .
