Kamil Taylan (* 1950 in Turkey ) is a German-Turkish television journalist , sociologist and crime writer .

In 1981 his first German-language book publications appeared: Das Jugendbuch Merhaba ... Guten Tag: a report about a Turkish family (together with Karin König and Hanne Straube), for which he received the Hans-im-Glück-Preis in 1982 , and Turkey - Republic among wolves (with Jürgen Roth ).

Together with Georg M. Hafner , who also researched ways of drug trafficking with Taylan for the book For example Cocain (1988) and various reports for television, the journalist traced the life of a drug addict in Alexandra: Tod in Frankfurt in 1986 . Based on their experiences in the Frankfurt drug scene, the two authors wrote detective novels under the pseudonym "HAFTAY".

Taylan is also co-author of the youth book Oya (1988) about the “foreign homeland Turkey”, which tells the thought-provoking story of a Turkish child returning from home who cannot live in the homeland of his parents. Oya was often used as a teaching aid for intercultural learning in German schools, has seen over a dozen new editions and has also been translated into French.

Taylan's research Deadly slopes: Ski races at any price (1997) investigates the deaths in professional ski races in recent years, based on the death of the ski world champion Ulrike Maier at the Ski World Cup on January 29, 1994 in Garmisch. The book is based on a documentary by Taylor for ARD.

In recent years, Taylan has increasingly shot reports for television, especially for Hessischer Rundfunk , some of which were shown on ARD during prime time, and no longer published any books.
