Kammerer-Luka (born June 9, 1929 in Gernsbach as Gerhard Friedrich Ludwig Kammerer) is a German visual artist who lives and works in Belfort and Castres (France).

biography

Kammerer-Luka graduated from the Ludwig-Wilhelm-Gymnasium in Rastatt in 1949 . From 1950 to 1957 he studied philosophy, history, German and Romance languages ​​at the universities of Freiburg and Bonn , which he completed in 1958 with the state examination. In 1963 he moved to Belfort, France, where he worked as a freelance artist until 1965. In 1968 he co-founded the Groupe Couleur for paint in buildings. From 1969 to 1989 he was a lecturer in German at the Institut Universitaire Technique de Belfort (IUT), a branch of the University of Franche-Comté in Besançon, and was involved in setting up the language laboratory. From 1969 to 2012 he worked with the computer scientist Jean-Baptiste Kempf. In 1972 he founded the Groupe Art et Ordinateur de Belfort (GAOB). From 1992 to 2005 he was the owner of Kammerer-Luka Design (KLD) in Belfort and took on international design assignments for color and shape.

Kammerer-Luka archive

Founded in 2011 to record, scientifically edit, preserve and convey the work of Kammerer-Luka in the offices of the Freiburg-based modo Verlag. The archive, which was set up in close collaboration with the artist, collects a large part of the artistic work in a central location and makes important literature and additional source material accessible in the form of personal documents such as photos and diaries.
