Siegfried Kreitner (born December 1, 1967 in Simbach am Inn ) is a German sculptor. He lives and works near Landshut and Munich .

Live and act

In 1993, Kreitner began studying art education in Regensburg. From 1996 he studied sculpture at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. In 1997 he attended the New York Studio School Of Drawing Painting And Sculpture. In 1998 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. From 1999 he was a master student with David Evison at the Berlin University of the Arts.

From 2001 to 2004, Kreitner was assistant to Fridhelm Klein and Mathias Wähner at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. Since 2005 he has been teaching kinetic object construction at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich.

Movement and light are the defining elements of Kreitner's metallic sculptures. The expression "minimal kinetics" used by himself refers both to the low speed of the electric motor-driven moving parts as well as to the largely unadorned work. The long-term collaboration with his partner, the painter Annegret Hoch, meant that Kreitner increasingly included colored elements in his work.
