Chamber Orchestra Hanover
The Chamber Orchestra Hannover , partly Hanowerska Orkiestra Kameralna and Hanover Chamber Orchestra called, is one of the most traditional chamber orchestra in Germany . The ensemble of mostly young musicians consists of a good dozen strings and a small line-up of wind players , mostly students and graduates of the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media (HMTMH), many of whom also perform as soloists and have already won prizes in various competitions .
history
The chamber orchestra, founded by Georg Littmann in 1964, was conducted by Hans Herbert Jöris in 1975 under the title “Music in Herrenhausen ” in the Beethoven Hall of the Congress Center Hanover .
In 1990 Adam Kostecki took over the artistic direction and the rebuilding of the ensemble and, as one critic put it, formed it into a “chamber orchestra with international class” within two years.
For the Expo 2000 world exhibition , the Hanover Chamber Orchestra performed "Baroque and Bel canto" in the cultural kaleidoscope series of events at the Stemmen manor .
The orchestra performs regularly at festivals such as the Lower Saxony Music Festival , the São Paulo Music Festival , the Londrina Music Festival , the Chamber Music Podium in Braunschweig, the Flanieres Musicals Reims, the Mosel Festival Weeks and the Oldenburger Promenaden .
