Reuth is a district of the Upper Franconian community of Hochstadt am Main in the Lichtenfels district .

geography

The street village is located about eight kilometers southeast of Lichtenfels in the hill country south of the Main . A community road to Wolfsloch and the LIF 4 district road from Hochstadt to Roth lead through Reuth .

history

The place name indicates a small clearing. The first documentary mention was in 1313, when Eberhard Rauschner and his wife waived their income from goods in "Rautelin" near Hochstadt in favor of the Langheim monastery . In the same year, the monastery acquired goods in “Reutlein” from the Obristfeld church and parish.

In 1520 Reuth was parish in Isling . In addition to the Langheim monastery, Bamberg's bishopric also owned fiefs and the village rulers.

In 1818 Reuth belonged to the Obermainkreis . In 1833 the place was a hamlet with ten houses and 56 inhabitants. In 1862, Reuth was incorporated into the newly created Bavarian district office of Lichtenfels . In 1871 the place had 88 residents, all of whom were Catholic, and 30 buildings. The hamlet belonged to the Catholic parish in Isling, seven kilometers away. The Catholic school was located in the drive 2.5 kilometers away . Reuth belonged to the rural community of Obersdorf , which in 1900 included two further parts of the community, the hamlets of Anger and Thelitz with a total area of ​​678.88 hectares, 355 inhabitants, of which 352 were Catholic and 3 were Protestant, and 59 residential buildings. 77 people lived in 12 residential buildings in Reuth. The Catholic school was now in Obersdorf, 0.5 kilometers away. In 1925 57 people lived in 12 residential buildings in the place. On December 30, 1925, Reuth was parish from the Isling parish and joined the Hochstadt parish. In 1950 the village had 76 residents and 11 residential buildings. It belonged to the district of the Evangelical parish of Michelau . In 1970 Reuth had 58 inhabitants and in 1987 it had 64 inhabitants and 16 residential buildings with 18 apartments.

On May 1, 1978, the municipality of Obersdorf and the Reuth part of the municipality were incorporated into Hochstadt as part of the municipal reform.

Catholic chapel
