Trieb is a district of Lichtenfels with 585 inhabitants (as of February 8, 2016). The Franconian Marienweg runs through the village .
history
"Tribe" was first mentioned in a document in 1142. Until the end of the Old Kingdom , the place belonged to the Langheim monastery .
In 1818 Trieb was merged with Nassanger and Karolinenhöhe to form a municipality, in 1862 Degendorf was assigned to the municipality of Trieb. On January 1, 1978, it was incorporated into the city of Lichtenfels.
Culture and sights
- The Catholic Curate Church for the Immaculate Conception was built in 1867/68
- Berghof Trieb, a former court master's office of the abbots of the Langheim monastery . The elongated mansion and a monastery tavern were built in the 18th century.
- Trieb Castle or Trieber Schlösschen is located northwest of the estate and was built as the summer residence of the Langheim abbots. It is a three-wing hipped roof building from the years 1723/1724, which was built on the remains of a building that was destroyed in the Peasants' War in 1525. The builder of the castle was Johann Georg Brückner from Coburg , who also planned the main building of the monastery. The inner courtyard between the three wings is open to the south. The courtyard gate from the late 18th century comes from the demolished Fassoldshof Castle and was rebuilt at Trieber Schlösschen. The epitaph of Abbot Gallus Knauer is placed in the gate .
