Roth is a district of the Bavarian district town of Lichtenfels .

location

The place is seven kilometers southeast of Lichtenfels. The Stephansbrunnengraben rises in the southeast and flows through the place. In the south the state road 2203 runs to Lichtenfels.

history

Rode was first mentioned in a document in 1180.

Until the end of the Old Kingdom , the place belonged to the Langheim monastery .

In 1818 Roth was merged with Langheim to form the community of Roth. The desert Bohnberg and Ziegengraben also belonged to the community . Ziegengraben fell into desolation at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1818 Roth had 187 inhabitants, in 1950 there were 408, in 1961 397 and in 1970 424. In 1925 the community had an area of ​​about 638 hectares . On April 1, 1951, the Roth community ceded parts to form the new Langheim community . Since then, the community still had the towns of Roth and Bohnberg and an area of ​​around 347 hectares. On January 1, 1978, the community was incorporated into the city of Lichtenfels.

On the northern outskirts there is a private helipad with limited flight operations, where a twin-engine Mil Mi-2 multi-purpose helicopter is stationed.
