Stetten is a district of the Upper Franconian town of Lichtenfels in the Lichtenfels district .

The village is about five kilometers west of Lichtenfels in a valley basin at the foot of the Banzer Berg.

history

Stetten was first mentioned in the 9th century. The Frankish imperial estate in "Stetin" included the territory and eleven mansions . The next mention of Stetten was around 1139 with "Eberhard de Stetin". The family of the Lords of Stetten appears until 1464.

On January 1, 1975, Stetten was incorporated into the city of Lichtenfels with the municipal parts Gnellenroth and Tiefenroth.
