Mönchkröttendorf is a district of the Upper Franconian town of Lichtenfels .
geography
The village is located about eight kilometers southeast of the core town of Lichtenfels on the LIF 4 district road between Roth and Lahm . The Leuchsenbach , a tributary of the Main, rises in the north .
history
Mönchkröttendorf was first mentioned in 1269 as Rotendorf . Until 1803 the place belonged as a parish to the Langheim monastery , until this was dissolved in the course of secularization . With the community edict, the then 135 inhabitants formed an independent community from 1818 in the Lichtenfels district court .
In 1950 Mönchkröttendorf had 219 inhabitants. On January 1, 1975, it was incorporated into the town of Lichtenfels.
