Burgstall is a district of the Upper Franconian municipality of Hochstadt am Main in the Lichtenfels district .

geography

The village is about ten kilometers east of Lichtenfels on a slope above the Main . A community road leads from Burgstall to Hochstadt am Main.

history

The first mention was around 1225, when Heinrich von Weidnitz transferred his property "Burcstal" to the Langheim monastery . 1382 debts of the monastery with the fishermen of "Burgstal" were mentioned.

In 1801, the included Bishopric of Bamberg , the centering - and territorial domination. The monastery Langheim possessed the feudal, bailiwick, village and community rule. The parish parish belonged to Altenkunstadt . Twelve houses with barns were subject to tax at the Lichtenfels Office.

In 1818 Burgstall belonged to the Obermainkreis . In 1862, the village was incorporated into the newly created Bavarian district office of Lichtenfels . In 1871 the place had 93 inhabitants and 37 buildings. The village belonged to the Catholic parish in Altenkunstadt, 4.0 kilometers away . The Catholic school was in Wolfsloch, 1.5 kilometers away . In 1900, the rural community of Wolfsloch, including the Burgstall part of the community, comprised an area of ​​277.97 hectares, 252 residents, of which 250 were Catholic and 2 were Protestant, and 44 residential buildings. 76 people lived in 15 residential buildings in Burgstall. In 1925, 83 people lived in 14 residential buildings in the village. On December 30, 1925, Burgstall was parish from the Altenkunstadt parish and joined the Hochstadt parish. In 1950 the village had 108 residents and 14 residential buildings and belonged to the district of the Protestant parish Obristfeld . In 1970 Burgstall had 73 residents and in 1987 60 residents and 14 residential buildings with 20 apartments.

On May 1, 1978 Wolfsloch and its part of the municipality Burgstall were incorporated into Hochstadt as part of the municipal reform.
