Thelitz is a district of the Upper Franconian community of Hochstadt am Main in the Lichtenfels district .

geography

The village is located about eight kilometers southeast of Lichtenfels in a hill country south of the Main . The district road LIF 4 leads through Thelitz from Hochstadt to Roth .

history

The first documentary mention took place in 1180, when the Bamberg Bishop Otto confirmed acquisitions of the Langheim monastery , including "Thecluz". In 1249 Iring von Kunstadt offered the monastery a court at “Theliz” as compensation.

In 1520 "Dehelitz" was partially parish in Isling . 1801 belonged to the bishopric Bamberg the territorial rule and the offices in Lichtenfels and Weismain each half of the cent . The monastery Langheim possessed the feudal, bailiwick, village and community rule. The parish district belonged half to Altenkunstadt and half to Isling. Four goods built with houses and barns were taxable at the WeismainLichtenfels office.

In 1818 Thelitz belonged to the Obermainkreis . In 1862 Thelitz was incorporated into the newly created Bavarian district office of Lichtenfels . In 1871 there were 60 residents, all of whom were Catholic, and 36 buildings. The hamlet was part of the Catholic parish in Isling, six kilometers away, where the Catholic school was also located. Thelitz belonged to the rural community of Obersdorf , which in 1900 included two further parts of the community, the hamlets of Anger and Reuth with a total area of ​​678.88 hectares, 355 inhabitants, of which 352 were Catholic and 3 were Protestant, and 59 residential buildings. 67 people lived in 11 residential buildings in Thelitz. The Catholic school was now in Obersdorf, 0.5 kilometers away. In 1925 66 people lived in 10 residential buildings in the village. On December 30, 1925, Thelitz was parish from the Isling parish and joined the Hochstadt parish. In 1950 the village had 83 residents and 10 residential buildings. It belonged to the district of the Evangelical parish of Michelau . In 1970 Thelitz had 55 inhabitants and in 1987 47 inhabitants and 11 residential buildings with 11 apartments.

On May 1, 1978, the municipality of Obersdorf and the Thelitz part of the municipality were incorporated into Hochstadt as part of the municipal reform.

Attractions

Catholic chapel

The chapel consecrated to the Apostle Andreas , a sandstone block building with a gable roof and turret and half-timbered gable was built in 1826. In the Bavarian list of monuments , six other monuments are listed for Thelitz , see list of monuments of the municipality .
