Kangerluarsuk [ kaˌŋɜɬːuˈɑsːuk ] (according to the old spelling Kangerdluarssuk ; Inuktun Kangertuarruk [ kaˌŋɜχɾuˈɑχːu (k) ]) is a deserted Greenlandic settlement in the district of Qaanaaq in the Avannaata Kommunia .

location

Kangerluarsuk is on the same peninsula as Qaanaaq , Piulip Nunaa , but on the opposite side. The fjord of the same name (Bowdoin Fjord) runs in front of the village . Qaanaaq is 18 km to the west.

history

Kangerluarsuk is part of the Oqqorliit residential group , within which the Inughuit used to live nomadically. In 1951 31 people lived in Kangerluarsuk. In the following year there were 41 people and in 1953 45. In 1960 Kangerluarsuk had 57 inhabitants. In the course of the 1960s the residential space was given up.
