The District of Saint-Avertin was 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement Tours in Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire . Jean-Gérard Paumier ( UMP ), Mayor (Maire) of the city of Saint-Avertin, was last representative in the General Council of the Département from 1994 to 2015, re-elected in 2008 .

Since the reorganization of the French cantons in 2015, the city of Saint-Avertin has belonged to the canton of Saint-Pierre-des-Corps .
