The pulpit of the town church in Balingen , the district town of the Zollernalb district , is a late Gothic work. According to a contract from 1512, a master Franz from Tübingen created the pulpit .

Consisting of stone -made and colored aggregate pulpit was set up after the renovation of the church in the 1980s on the eastern south pillar. The octagonal pulpit stands on a foot decorated with branches, crabs and finials . The reliefs of the parapet depict the patron saint of the Church, Mary , who is framed by the four occidental Doctors of the Church, Ambrose , Hieronymus , Gregory the Great and Augustine . The Madonna in the halo on the crescent moon carries the Child Jesus who is holding a pear in her hand.

The wooden sound cover adorned with music- making putti , evangelist symbols and the Good Shepherd was created around 100 years later than the pulpit with foot. He is attributed to Simon Schweitzer from Balingen.
