Kanzlersgrund above Oberschönau

The Kanzlersgrund is the Kerbsohlental of the Schwarza- Oberlauf Haselbach in the Thuringian Forest in the district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen , on the boundary of Oberschönau and Steinbach-Hallenberg .

geography

Between the north-west slope of the 904  m high Schützenberg and the south-east slope of the 832.4  m high Dürren Kopf , both south-west of Oberhof , the ground stretches 7.82 km to the west-south-west and makes a curve south of the Hohen Stein ( 860  m ) to the north-west to Oberschönau .

It separates the up to 890  m high main ridge of the Thuringian Forest on the Rennsteig in the north from the peaks of the more southerly mountain range with Gebranntem Stein ( 897  m ), Ruppberg ( 866  m ) and Großem Hermannsberg ( 867  m ).

Surname

The part of the name "Chancellor" is derived from the Canzelsberg . As early as 1585, a mill called "Canzlarsmuhel" was mentioned in the upper Schönau.

The L 1128 runs through the valley from Oberhof via Ober- and Unterschönau to Steinbach-Hallenberg .

Haselbach

The Haselbach flows through the valley, which is formed around 500 m south of the Grenzadler by the confluence of a stream with the Haselborn . After about 1.5 km it takes up the Radelsgraben -bach which flows into the left and runs in the valley between Schützenberg and Gebrannter Stein. Only 360 m further on comes the Falkengraben from the right , which meanders between Dürrer Kopf and Jägerhauskopf into the valley of the Haselbach. Another tributary to the right is the Kohlenbach , which reinforces the Haselbach opposite the Waldhaus Kanzlersgrund , a well-known forest restaurant. Between this confluence and Oberschönau numerous, mostly smaller and nameless streams find their destination in the Haselbach. The last tributary of the Haselbach in Kanzlersgrund is the Kienbach in Oberschönau , which flows in from the right .

Others
