Cape Howard is a towering, flattened, and snowy cape on the Black Coast of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It lies at the end of the Snyder Peninsula , which separates Lamplugh Inlet from Odom Inlet .
Participants in the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941) discovered the headland in 1940. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it after August Howard (1910–1989), founder of the American Polar Society and editor of the company's journal, Polar Times .
