Jamie Walker (born June 25, 1993 in Edinburgh , Scotland ) is a Scottish football player .

Career

Jamie Walker has been with Heart of Midlothian , the largest club in his native Edinburgh, since he was a teenager, and received his first professional contract in 2009. In November 2011 his club was in financial difficulties and was only able to pay salaries late. From this point on, the then junior player Walker moved on loan to the second division club Raith Rovers . The loan deal was extended twice and Walker ultimately stayed until the end of the season. Since his return he has been one of the regular players and is used on both flanks and in the Hearts attacking midfield. After his team had been deducted a total of 15 points in the 2013/14 season due to a petition for bankruptcy , he rose to the second division with Heart of Midlothian. In the following season 2014/15 Walker succeeded with his team the championship and the direct promotion. He was also voted into Team of the Year. In the Scottish Premiership 2015/16 he reached third place with the club. During the 2017/18 winter break, Walker left Hearts after more than 17 years and moved to the English third division club Wigan Athletic . It was rarely used in England. After a loan from Peterborough United , he moved back to Heart of Midlothian in June 2019.

National team

Jamie Walker completed several missions for various junior selections of the Scottish national football team, but was not considered again after relegation to the second division.
