Career

society

White started his career in the youth club of Leeds United , which was playing in England's second highest league at the time . He played his first game for the professional team on August 26, 2008 in the League Cup against Crystal Palace at the age of 16. He made his league debut on September 20, 2008 in a 2-0 win over Carlisle United . In December 2008 White signed a professional contract until June 2012. The end of the season he had to sit out due to injury.

In the first league game of the following season against Oldham Athletic , he was able to convince, but had to be replaced in the second half due to cramps caused by nervousness .

In the 2009/10 season, however, he came only to a few substitutions. On November 18, 2010, he was loaned to Oldham Athletic until January 3, 2011 , as White should gain more gaming experience, according to coach Simon Grayson . He scored his first professional goal in his first game for Oldham against Dagenham & Redbridge . Also in the next game he scored a goal against Exeter City . On January 27, he moved to Oldham on loan again until the end of the season. As before, White was able to score a goal in the first two games against Carlisle United and Hartlepool United .

White returned to Leeds United after the promising loan deal, which helped ease his nervous cramps. After losing 3-0 to Manchester United on September 11, 2011, he declared that he had overcome the persistent cramps. He then became a regular as a left full-back . In December 2011, Leeds United White submitted a four-year contract, which he did not sign for the time being, as there were already rumors of interest from high-class clubs. After Newcastle United expressed interest , White was again offered a contract extension. But international clubs like Celtic Glasgow , Lille OSC and Werder Bremen also showed interest.

National team

In March 2009, White had his first and only game in the English U-19s when he came on against the Czech Republic in the 73rd minute. The game ended in a 0-0 draw.

Because of his Irish origins, White decided to play for the Irish U-21 national team. He played his first game on August 10, 2011 against Austria , which was won 2-1. He scored his first goal for Ireland in a 2-0 win over Liechtenstein .
