Aaron Hickey (born June 10, 2002 ) is a Scottish soccer player who is under contract with Heart of Midlothian .

Career

Aaron Hickey first played in the youth academy of Celtic Glasgow . In 2018 he moved to Heart of Midlothian's youth in Edinburgh . For the club, Hickey first played in the junior team of the U-18s and was there mostly as a full-back. On May 10, 2019, at the age of 16, he made his professional debut for Hearts against FC Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership . In the 1: 2 defeat on the penultimate game day, he was substituted on in the 62nd minute for Jamie Brandon . Under Craig Levein , the teenager played in the last game of the 2018/19 season against the new champions Celtic Glasgow in Paradise . Hickey was in the starting eleven for the first time in his professional career. On May 25, 2019, the 16-year-old Hickey was in the starting line-up for Hearts in the Scottish Cup final against Celtic, which was lost 2-1. This made him the youngest player in a Scottish Cup final since John Fleck in 2008 .
