Christopher "Chris" Hamilton (born July 13, 2001 in Kelty ) is a Scottish soccer player who is under contract with Heart of Midlothian .

Career

Chris Hamilton joined Heart of Midlothian when he was eight . After his arrival in 2009, he remained in the junior teams of the "Hearts" for the following years. He was the captain of the U-20 team for some time .

On the last day of the 2017/18 season in the Scottish Premiership , he made his debut for the "Hearts" in the professional team against FC Kilmarnock in Rugby Park . In the 0-1 away defeat, the 16-year-old Hamilton was appointed to the starting line-up by coach Craig Levein . He was one of four debutants alongside Cammy Logan , Leeroy Makovora and Connor Smith .

From September 2018 to January 2019, the young center- back was loaned out to the Berwick Rangers in the Scottish fourth division. This was followed by a loan from August 2019 to July 2020 to Cowdenbeath FC, who also competed in the fourth division. After 20 appearances in the League Two called league, he came back to Edinburgh.

National team

Chris Hamilton was part of the Scottish U16 team that took part in the Victory Shield in 2017 , which also included his teammates from the Hearts Harry Cochrane , Anthony McDonald and Euan Henderson . Between 2016 and 2018 he played ten times for the Scottish U-17 national team . In 2018 he played two games in the U18 , before making his debut in the U19 and U21 in the same year . With the Under-21s he took in 2018 at the Tournament of Toulon in part.
