Leszek Bakuła

Leszek Bakuła (born December 4, 1930 in Ostrołęka , † March 22, 1997 in Ustka ) was a Polish poet and prose writer .

Life

During the German occupation , Bakuła lived in Myszyniec until 1943 and then in Ostrołęka until 1945. There he attended grammar school after the Second World War and graduated from high school in 1951 . He made his debut as a poet in 1950 with the poem Obrazek pokoju , which appeared in the weekly Wieś . In 1950, his literary-critical article Słowo z ubocza on the work of Julian Przyboś and Czesław Miłosz was published in the journal Kuźnica . After graduating from high school, he studied Polish Studies at the University of Warsaw from 1951 to 1956 . From 1955 to 1958 he worked as a primary school teacher in the village of Łopuszno . In addition, he was a member of the Polish teachers' union Związek Nauczycielstwa Polskiego from 1955 until his retirement in 1987 , where he founded a literature club in Warsaw and later in Koszalin and Słupsk . He moved to Ustka in 1958, where he initially ran a primary school until 1961. He then taught from 1962 to 1965 in the field of philosophy , sociology , logic and ethics at the technical college for teacher training ( Studium Nauczycielskie ) in Słupsk. In addition, he taught Polish from 1961 at the technical college in Słupsk. From 1966 to 1967 he attended a correspondence course in philosophy at the University of Warsaw. In 1971 he was admitted to the Union of Polish Writers .

His son is the literary scholar Bogusław Bakuła .
