Brauereigasthof and Hotel Kapplerbräu (2019)

The Brauereigasthof Kapplerbräu is an inn with a brewery in the Upper Bavarian market Altomünster . The baroque building with its curved gable was erected at the end of the 17th or beginning of the 18th century on the upper market of the village. The Altomünster Brewery Museum was opened in 1985 in the associated former brewery and malt house building.

The two-storey building is oriented with its eaves to the street, the facade is structured by three floor bay windows with tail gables. The two three-story main gables of the house are also curved. On the street facade there is a wrought-iron pub sign from 1849. On the east side of the courtyard there is a barn from the 18th century and on the south side an Art Nouveau building with a hipped roof from around 1910 with a stage and outside staircase. The entire facility is a listed building .

history

The brewery was first mentioned in a document in 1561. In 1641 the master brewer Anton Hörmann from Gibhausen acquired the property. 30 years later, Johann Kappler took over the brewery, which still gives the inn its name. After the brewery changed hands several times over the centuries, the brewer Wilhelm Wiedemann from Thannhausen took over the property in 1922 by marrying the brewer's daughter, whose family is still the owner of the house to this day.

Products

The company produces the Export-Hell , the “Echt Altomünsterer Hefeweisse ”, the “Leichte Weisse”, the “Dark Zunftbier” and the “Pater Simon Pils ”. The total output of beer is around 7,000 hectoliters per year. Kapplerbräu also produces non-alcoholic drinks. These include orange and lemon lemonade , cola mix and the diet fruit juices "Orange Light" and "Grapefruit Light".
