Kara, Kara is a song by the Australian pop band New World , which was released in both English and German. In Germany, the German cover version of the piece, Immer Wenn ich Josy seh ' by Peter Orloff, became more popular.

Original version

The song was written by the Australian singer-songwriter and music producer duo Chinn-Chapman , consisting of Mike Chapman and Nicky Chinn . The production was done by the English music producer Mickie Most . Was arranged Kara, Kara , led by Phil Dennys.

The first release of Kara, Kara took place as a 7 ″ single in the United Kingdom, under the British record label RAK Records ( catalog : RAK 123) on October 29, 1971. The B-side of the single contains the song Lord of the Dance . The cover picture of the single shows the front view of a sailing boat at sea. In Germany, the same single version was released under the Columbia Records music label in December 1971 (catalog: 1C 006-93 065). German language version

On January 17, 1972 , a German version of the title was released in Germany as a 7 ″ single (catalog: 1C 006-93 269) , also under Columbia Records and EMI . The single includes Lay Me Down as the B-side . The corresponding blue cover picture shows the three band members standing in a row from the side, each carrying an acoustic guitar on their shoulders. The text for this German version is from Kurt Feltz . The German version was produced by Peter Orloff .

When Whenever I see Josy ' is a German-language re-recording of Peter Orloff, the original Kara, Kara from 1971. The composition of Chinn-Chapman remained unchanged here, it was rearranged simply by Wilfried Grünberg. The lyrics were rewritten by Orloff himself. In addition, Orloff was also responsible as the producer of the new recording. The song was released as part of Orloff's tenth studio album of the same name and as a 7 "single. The single was released under Orloff's own music label Aladin Records in June 1978 (catalog: 1 C 006-32 870). The B-side is the song Blue Baby Belinda on the single again. The front cover only shows - in addition to the artist's name and song title - a portrait of Orloff. On the back there is an advertising print for the German Schlager Rallye . Whenever I see Josy, I had some successes in the ZDF hit parade, which meant that Orloff appeared on the show three times with the song. In the 107th episode of July 24, 1978, the song was placed at position 18. In the next issue of August 21, 1978, the song climbed to position 13 and Orloff first appeared live on the show. In the 109th episode of September 18, 1978, the song rose further and placed in seventh position. Here there was another live performance by Orloff. A month later the title peaked at position five, Orloff performed live for the third and last time on October 16, 1978. In the 111th episode of November 13, 1978, Immer Wenn I see Josy placed in ninth place. In the December edition of December 11, 1978, the song was placed for the sixth and last time in the ZDF hit parade and reached position 14. Apart from its success in the ZDF hit parade, the title was also at the top of the Bravo music box of the year Place 1979.
