Maximila Imali gained her first international experience at the 2014 Junior World Championships in Eugene , where she made it to the finals in the 800-meter run, but had to end her run there prematurely. At the IAAF World Relays 2017 in the Bahamas , she retired with the 4 x 200 meter relay in the preliminary run and took fourth place in the B with the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 40.98 min -Final. She also qualified for the World Championships in London , where she was eliminated with 53.97 s in the first round . The following year, she first took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast and was there in 51.32 s fifth. In 2019, she started at the African Games in Rabat over 100 meters, where she finished seventh in 11.69 s and won the bronze medal behind Nigeria and South Africa in 45.44 s with the 4 x 100 meter relay. In addition, she was fourth in the long jump with a width of 6.27 m.
In 2017 and 2018 Imali became the Kenyan champion in the 400-meter run, in 2017 also over 100 meters and in 2019 in the long jump.
