WNBA (since 2003)

Lawson was selected in the 2003 WNBA Draft by the Detroit Shock in fifth place. But just five days later she was transferred to the Sacramento Monarchs for Kedra Holland-Corn and a second-round pick in the 2004 WNBA Draft . In their first five seasons, Lawson rarely played in the Monarchs' starting lineup, but they still got a considerable playing time at around 22 minutes per game. In the 2005 season she won the WNBA championship with the Monarchs. Lawson made a significant contribution to this success with her average of 11.3 points per game. Their strongest season for the Monarchs, they played so far in the 2007 season when she with 11 points, 0.9 steals, 2.3 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game in each of these categories set a new personal record. In the 2008 season Lawson was an integral part of the starting lineup. She was able to set a new personal record in the season with an average of 12.2 points. In addition, she reached the playoffs with the Monarchs for the sixth time in a row, where the Monarchs were knocked out in the Conference Semifinals just 2-1 in games against the San Antonio Silver Stars . The 2009 season was not nearly as successful as a team as the previous one, when Lawson first missed the playoffs with the Monarchs and ended the season as the worst team in the league. Lawson was rarely in the starting line-up during the season, but their playing time remained almost as long as the previous season. In the end, Lawson was able to close the season with a personal sense of achievement when she was awarded the Kim Perrot Sportsmanship Award .

After the dissolution of the Monarchs, she moved to the Connecticut Sun as a free agent before the 2010 season . There she played most of the games as a member of the starting lineup. She reached the playoffs twice in four seasons with the team. After four years with the Sun, Lawson moved to the Washington Mystics team for the 2014 season, for which she was active until 2015. In Washington she reached the playoffs with the Mystics, but always failed in the first round.
