Karabo Mothibi (born October 15, 1996 in Jwaneng ) is a Botswana sprinter .

Athletic career

Karabo Mothibi gained his first experience in international championships at the 2013 Youth World Championships in Donetsk , where he reached the semi-finals in the 100-meter run , in which he was eliminated with 11.00 s. In addition, he went off over 200 meters in 22.47 s on the first lap. The following year he reached the junior world championships in Eugene in the 200-meter run to the semi-finals and was eliminated there with 21.54 s. He also took part in the 4 x 100 meter relay, but did not reach the final with 40.53 s. In 2015 he won the silver medal at the Junior African Championships in Addis Ababa with the relay in 40.95 seconds. In 2016, at the African Championships in Durban , he finished sixth over 100 meters in 10.36 seconds and seventh in the relay in 40.40 seconds. In 2018 he took part in the 100-meter run in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast and was eliminated there with 10.42 seconds in the lead. In August he was eighth over 100 meters at the African Championships in Asaba in 10.55 s and was eliminated in the semi-finals over 200 meters with 21.31 s. The following year he took part in the Africa Games in Rabat for the first time and made it over 100 meters to the semi-finals, in which he was eliminated with 10.55 s. He failed over 200 meters with 21.25 s in the first lap and finished fifth with the relay in 39.52 s.

In 2016 Mothibi became the Botswana champion in the 100-meter run and the 4-by-100-meter relay. In 2017 he secured the title over 200 meters.
