Kari Sál

Kari Sál (* 4. May 1993 as Karina Srocka ) is a Polish jazz musician ( vocals , composition ).

Sál grew up in the Bieszczady Mountains . She first studied at the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Music Academy in Łódź , and later jazz singing at the Music Academy in Gdansk . With her sisters Joanna and Martyna Srocka she performed as a vocal trio SisT (h) ree / SiostryTrzy ; at the World Youth Day 2016 in Krakow they sang for almost two million viewers from all over the world.

On her debut album Betesda for the Slovak label Hevhetia , she interprets a number of sacred songs with a top-class octet, her own compositions, which are based on apocryphal Bible texts from the proto-gospel of James in addition to her own lyrics . The title piece had its premiere at the Festival The Colors of Poland in Brzeziny 2016 of the Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic.

Sál is married to Adam Bałdych , with whom she has performed since 2015. With her husband, she organized during COVID-19 pandemic in Poland , the campaign #gramywdomu with live streaming concerts, to improve the situation of artists.
