Karin Brieden

Karin Brieden (born October 22, 1958 in Winterberg ) is a German media manager and lawyer . Since January 1, 2014, she has been the administrative director of the Second German Television .

Career

Karin Brieden studied law and initially held various functions in public administration . In 1989 she became a consultant for legal policy in the State Chancellery in Düsseldorf , in 1990 head of human resources, training manager and equal opportunities officer in the Düsseldorf administrative region .

In 1992 Brieden went to Rhineland-Palatinate and became a personnel officer for the local state chancellery . In 1997 she went to Deutschlandradio . There she became deputy administrative director and rose to administrative director in 2002. In 2007, after internal structural changes, she became administrative and operations director for the areas of finance, controlling, personnel, fees and licenses, systems and information technology, program distribution, and construction and infrastructure.

On September 20, 2013, the ZDF announced that Karin Brieden will take over the post of administrative director from 2014 , which is connected with the function of deputy director, as the successor to Hans Joachim Suchan . Like her predecessor, she is a member of the SPD . She is the first woman to head the ZDF administrative department. On June 30, 2017, the ZDF Board of Directors extended Brieden's contract to December 31, 2023 at the suggestion of Artistic Director Thomas Bellut .

Karin Brieden is also Deputy Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of ARD ZDF Deutschlandradio Contribution Service and a member of the Board of Directors at Deutschlandradio.
