Life

From 1972 to 1978 she studied German literature, philosophy, theater, film and television studies at the Universities of Mainz and Cologne (degree: 1st state examination ). From 1979 to 1988 she was a research assistant at the University of Cologne at the Institute for German Language and Literature. In 1998 she was Visiting Associate Professor at the University of California, Berkeley . From 1998 to 1999 she represented at the Universities of Bonn and Greifswald . In 2000 she conducted research at the Institute for Human Sciences . From 2001 to 2006 she represented chairs at the Universities of Marburg , Potsdam , Duisburg - Essen and Rostock . In 2006 she was appointed adjunct professor at the Technical University of Berlin. From 2006 to 2007 she was visiting professor at the Technical University of Berlin. Since October 2007 she has been an adjunct professor at the University of Bonn . Since July 2016 she has been the sub-project leader in the SFB 1167 Power and Rule. Her main research interests are normativity and inversion in medieval epics and lyric poetry, semiotization of the political body of rulers in text and image, intermediality in epic texts, visuality, spatiality and corporeality in poetry, mediality of material text carriers, conceptions of knowledge in literary texts and political poetry and Journalism of the late Middle Ages and the early modern period.
